US Army Veteran Tom Andor to guide Sanford Spinners as General Manager
The Sanford Spinners Baseball Club is pleased to announce Tom Andor as the team’s new General Manager, beginning in early 2026.
A native of St. Francis, Minnesota, Andor’s life has been shaped by two enduring commitments: service and baseball. He grew up playing youth and high school baseball before competing at the collegiate level, developing the teamwork, leadership, and resilience that would later define his career in the United States Army.
Andor served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 2017 after holding multiple senior leadership roles. Throughout his military career, he led teams across the country and abroad, instilling discipline, accountability, and a people first leadership style that now carries into his role with the Spinners.
Baseball has remained a constant throughout Andor’s life. Beyond playing collegiately, he has coached youth and high school teams, served as a varsity umpire, directed tournaments, and helped grow community based baseball programs. As a father, those experiences took on even greater meaning, reinforcing his belief in baseball as a way to teach responsibility, teamwork, and respect, values he continues to emphasize in every role he takes on.
Andor is the proud father of two adult children, Sean and Haley, and has spent most of his adult life in the Fayetteville area. He now calls Hope Mills home and works full time in Sanford. His close connection to the region and daily presence in the community reinforce his commitment to the Spinners as Sanford’s hometown team and to creating a ballpark experience families can be proud of.
As General Manager, Andor will focus on strengthening the family friendly ballpark experience, supporting player development, building community relationships, and continuing the tradition of accessible summer baseball in Sanford.
“I believe baseball brings communities together, and the Sanford Spinners already mean a great deal to this town,” Andor said. “I’m honored to serve in this role and excited to help create lasting memories for families, fans, and players.”
