Hometown History in the Making: Sanford Spinners to Host First-Ever Playoff Game at Tramway Park

For the first time in city history, Tramway Park will host an Old North State League playoff game, and it’s happening this Wednesday, July 23, as the Sanford Spinners take the field for a postseason showdown that’s bigger than baseball.
Founded to represent the heart and pride of Lee County, the Sanford Spinners have become a summer staple in the community, drawing families, baseball lovers, and local supporters together for evenings filled with great food, fun, and high-level collegiate baseball. But this Wednesday’s game is something special: it marks the first-ever ONSL playoff game held in Sanford, bringing a new level of excitement to the hometown field.
The Spinners will face off against a rival team from High Point, NC, in a game that’s expected to draw a record crowd. With local momentum, rising talent, and a passionate fan base, the Spinners are aiming to make history, not just for their season, but for the city they represent.
